Welcome to Stargate SG-1: Chrysalis, a Stargate virtual mini-season hosted by JanetFraiser.com.

Currently in the final stages of production are 12 episodes from 15 authors, hoping to bring you stories that are true to the heart of Stargate SG-1 and take the season where we, mere fans, would like it to go.  The first episode will air on 20th February 2004, taking a different fork in the road from the moment Dr. Janet Fraiser's life is thrown into the balance.

Prepare to be taken on a journey as week by week we take all our favourite characters towards the finale we think they deserve.

So, you've all seen or heard about what happened in "Heroes", right?

No?

So it goes without saying, many of us didn't want to lose such a fantastic character.  And whilst we had no confirmation of the event until it aired, things were never looking good.

Which led to Vicki and I talking, which led to this...

Stargate SG-1: Chrysalis - Virtual Season 7.5, jumping off from "Heroes", and keeping the lovely Dr Janet Fraiser where she belongs.

We'll be airing an episode a week for 12 weeks, exploring not just Janet's future but that of the entire show.  What will happen to Jack, Sam, Daniel, Teal'c... read our stories and find out!

Will there be another virtual season to follow this one?  No, for us, there won't.  We intend to tie everything up nicely, with a pretty pink bow.  Or blue, if you prefer ;-)

One more thing - why 'Chrysalis'?  Other than making spelling really difficult for ourselves *g*.  We chose this name to signify change, and new beginnings - themes we hope run throughout the series.

So that's it, folks!  This is our Stargate.  More than that, this is Janet's Stargate.  I hope you enjoy the stories, and may I take this opportunity to thank everyone who's got involved with this production, especially my co-producer Vicki!!  This wouldn't have been possible without every single one of you. :-)

Well, LauraJo's said most of it, but I'm still going to say some more!! ;-)

One of the things we thought of when we actually first started to plan this was "What if (hopefully!) what we think is going to happen, doesn't actually happen!?"  We continued thinking hopefully, and living in denial for as long as possible.  We knew that if it didn't happen we were going to go ahead with this as an alternate universe, based on the spoilers.  Really wish it was still.  *sighs*

In one way, this is a tribute to the character of Janet Fraiser, and also to Teryl Rothery.  It's obviously not something that we would have considered if Janet hadn't meant so much to LauraJo and myself.

We've managed to surround ourselves with a fantastic group of people, and hopefully you'll agree that in the end it will all be worth it! We're trying to stay true to the vision that's been presented on our screens for the last seven and a half years, and we hope we do these characters justice.

I wanted to end with something profound or witty... but nothing came to mind! So, I'd just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who's done anything, to you for reading these ramblings (and hopefully the episodes too!) and especially to LauraJo, my co-conspirator. :-)
